every dvd the ps2 laser would adjust to a slightly diff position for optinum reading,dvd to cdr position would b a much greater difference

This cannot be right dust,

The AR2V2 disc i use is CD format. Unless the laser is having difficulty reading CDR's, and must re-focus between Original CD and CDR formats, i don't think that's the problem.
