Question All of the DVD-R boot methods.. which to use?

I have noticed the following methods are all said to boot DVD-R games with the No Solder version5... Can some one tell me which one(s) actually work?

HOW TO "DOUBLE SWAP" WITH YOUR DVD-R BACK-UP:

Procedure: This method requires you to use an original PS2 DVD,
and also either a GS2 v1.9 (USA) or AR2 v1.7 (PAL) CD:

1) Turn on the ps2 with GS2 v1.9 / AR2 v1.7 (holding down the ON/RESET).

2) Select Start Game (Still Holding ON/Reset).

3) Press EJECT (while still holding the ON/RESET button)
and swap GS2 v1.9 / AR2 v1.7 with PS2 ORIGINAL DVD.

4) Press EJECT to close (Wait 10 seconds).

5) Then select WITHOUT CODES. Wait until disc stops.

6) Now let go of reset and the tray comes out, swap PS2 ORIGINAL DVD for a
back-up DVD-R and press X just as the tray starts to go back in (IMPORTANT)!

NOTE: An 8-wire mod-chip is REQUIRED to do this (using it's "tray opener"
function described above) or a PS2 DVD-Key (5-wire mod-chip). In addition,
please be aware that the DVD ORIGINAL DVD MUST have a bigger TOC than your
back-up DVD-R!

1. Put the dongle into slot 2.
2. Load the AR2v2 disk.
3. At the main screen press "Eject".
4. Swap the AR2v2 disk for a BIG DVDrom ORIGINAL
(It must be bigger than the DVDr you want to load).
5. Select "CODES".
6. Select "DAVE MIRRA".
7. Press "X" to choose the cheat.
EVERY CHEAT SHOULD BE ACTIVE.
8. Press "Start".
9. Select "Start game WITH codes".
10. Press "X".
A message will say "Too many codes active".
The DVD original will now stop spinning.
11. Now hold eject till the disk comes out, and swap with your backup DVD

12. Press "X".
You will be taken back to the "CODES" screen.
13. Press "Start".

The next time you boot a DVDr (as long as you havent selected a different cheat code)
