Big Probs finding Wearnes (WPI CDRW-4424) Firmware

I have a Wearnes (WPI CDRW-4424) CD-RW 4x4x24x.

And I want to update the firmware.
I know that this drive is a OEM of the Philips CDD4201 !!

The thing is that the Philips and all the other OEMs of the CDD4201 have firmware upgrades but Wearnes dont (cause they suck!).

But the philips (and all the other OEMs) wont let me use there firmware upgrades, says that its not a supported drive.

So I need to find a Wearnes firmware upgrade OR a Philips CDD4201 OEM firmware upgrade that will accept my drive OR a hack so it lets me use the philips one.

Any help would be great as im pulling my HAIR OUT. and I might just buy a Sony 12x10x32x
