Problems with "Read subchannel from data" with the Plextor 1610A too.
Clonecd said the writer didn't support "read sub...". My DVD-ROM was secondary master and my Plex secondary slave. I reversed it but it didn't work. Then I put the jumper on the "reserved pins", didn't work either. However, I am running W2K Professional and I read something about that giving problems (its ASPI, I believe) too, so I tried it in Win NT 4.0 (SP 5 or 6, I can check it out if you're interested). Didn't seem to work with Plex on slave and without the jumper placed. I placed the jumper and set the Plex on master and FINALLY, it worked. Don't know what was the decisive factor, the Plex being master or the "magic jumper".
However, I don't seem to be able to burn at all now in W2K. I think its ASPI is messed up (it probably already was before I tried the "read sub..."-thing). Anybody know how I can repair the ASPI, or what else is/went wrong ? I think I didn't install anything new. I got Nero and CloneCD installed, both worked a week ago. Now they both give "Couldn't write to Plextor 1610A"-errors.
