dvdx or GS?

Can anyone give me some feedback as to if there is a preference for either the GS or dvdx to use with an origa chip. I.e. is one better and for any or what reasons.

ps: Is the AR2 and GS2 exactly the same only that AR2 is for PAL machines and GS2 for NTSC?
