Sub $100 CD-RW

Guys,

My 1 year old Plextor 16/10/32 just went belly up. Need input on what to buy and have been looking at Pricewatch for prices.

Which sub-$100 CD writer is the best buy or what brands could I expect the best performance from? I am probably looking to go with a 16x to 24x write speed. Have found brands Artec, Acer, LG, etc. Are these any good? I definitely want some type of burn proof system.

Have found Lite On 16x and 24x in the $60 category. Is this real? I realize I need to check for warranty and if refurbished.

I just want a good drive to burn music and some data and not much else.

Any help would be appreciated.

Randy
