Question Windows CD Backup...

Ok, so this is my question for all you brain's out there...

I install Windows 98se, I install all my drivers, and set my settings and so forth...

I burn a copy of Windows and other misc needed files from the hardrive, so that I have a perfect copy of my Windows and it's settings before installing any after-market software like Word, Excel...ect.

Ok, if I ever had to re-install my hardrive from scratch,
I format the C: drive as usual with system files transfered.

I'd digout the CD copy I made, which would cut down on the time
it takes to install Windows and the nessary Video, sound...ect, drivers.

Can this be done?
And if so, can anyone help me out with this?
I realize this would have to be done in DOS. But am not sure on how to go about it...

THANKS FOR ANYBODYS INFO...

"Newbie",
Dwain
