backup vcd so it works in dvd player

I bought a couple of vcd's from the city and these work fine in my standalone sony dvd player. But whenever i try and back them up and try them out they don't work in the player but work in my pc. I have used cdrwin, cdclone, easy cd creator and still nothin. If anyone has been able to do this post up a response of how and what u did
