Is The Sony CRX160E Capable of using clone CD

My Yamaha (8424S) can't clone cd's, and I want to get something that can copy safedisk 2 and other protections. I have heard that the new cd writers won't read/write subchannel data, but the clone cd site says the sony is compatible. I'm a bit confused, can anybody tell me if the Sony will copy most protections, if it has the latest firmware.
