Win2k/CDRW Problems

I just bought a Ricoh MP9120A dual CDRW/DVD, the drive reads data and audio CDs and DVDs fine but in Nero (5.0.3.1) everytime I try to burn a CD I get a SCSI/IDE error followed by Invalid Writestate. I tested it on a diff computer running Win98 and it worked fine.
My system is a CUSL2, P3 733, 256RAM, Creative Geforce DDR, IBM Deskstar 30GB. I'm running Win2k /w SP1.
I've been having problems with the Intel ATA storage drivers, according to the device manager they're running on MS Drivers but I also have the Intel 6.0 storage driver, which when is run, the Companion think's that it is installed and is the storage driver. Also I can't unintall the Intel drivers, it just doesnt do anything when I click uninstall in the control panel: add/remove programs.

Any ideas?
