Audio-only discs, burn speed not listed

I have some Traxdata audio-only discs..for digital audio use and all that mumbo jumbo.

There isn't a recommended burn speed on the fron of the disc or its case. Thus is the record speed set to say 1x so that it can be used with a standalone recorder from Philips or Traxdata..you know the type, they're like a bog standard cd player except you can record on them.

This would make these discs inferior to normal cd-r discs since they can only withstand a low burn speed. Some people have even mentioned that burning at a lower speed actually stresses a cd-r disc more than burning at say 12x or 16x.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Bye.
