The thing to do is not worry too much about it.
Remember though without a dvd burner you will only be able to back up cdr based games.
With the vast majority of the top stuff being dvd based this somewhat limits your possibilities.
How many games are you likely to play?
If it's only two or three over a medium to long period you are probably better just getting the originals anyway.
Just make sure that they are the one's you really want.
Is there a local rental shop were you can hire a game for a few days and try before you by so to speak?
Sometimes having a chip fitted can work out more expensive because you tend to buy nearly every game that comes out and many of them don't get used anyway.
Make your mind up which way you want to go and just do it otherwise you'll drive yourselve nuts just being unsure and thinking about it all the time.
