What rip guide or tool are you using?

Try EasyGT3 can be found on www.megagames.com

This basically cuts the game down to size and builds the Vol file backup for you, ready to burn to a CDR.

If you did use this try re-ripping the game.

It does sound like a ripping prob.
I have both original and rip created with EasyGT3 no probs.
