Questions about playing backups w/no mods

K, I don't really wanna get a modchip if I don't have to. So, here are a few ?'s:

1. What is the best no-mod method? The ones I've read of are cog/knife and LH.

2. I've read some posts of no-mod backups. What is the difference between a no-mod backup and a normal backup?

3. Does any version of gameshark work with all the no-mod swap techniques?

4. I don't think you take anything apart that can't be put back together the way it was, do you? So the warranty isn't voided if you use a no-mod technique, is it?

5. Recommendation, advice, etc....
