Best writter to get is the Panasonic -A03, I've seen them on the internet (UK sites) for around £350 inc VAT (Search Yahoo becasue I can't remeber the site).
The Panasonic will write DVD-R and DVD-RW. Most of the other will only write DVD+RW. The +RW format is Ok if you just want to write the same disk over and over and works with many standalone dvd players. Downside is DVD+RW media is not cheap at around £16quid a disk. On the other hand DVD-RW is just the same (but done in a different way) and media is around £6quid a disk. BUT DVD-R is the big advantage. It works in 90% of standalone DVD players and the price is around 2.5quid per disk. The Panasonic will write a full disk (X2) in around 30mins and (1x) take an hour. Regards Lightning
