Simply Putting It I Need "help"

I have read that Clone CD is:---

CloneCD is a powerful CD-Copy program. It writes in Raw mode, which allows it to have total control on the data written. Therefore, CloneCD will produce real 1:1 copies of your PSX CDs. No other program is able to do the same but it only works for a select number of CD-Readers & CD-Writers!.

BUT THAT:-

NOTE: For now only CDRWIN can be used to patch PSX games. A
and:-

Basicaly there are 3 types of PSX patch,

1, Protection fix - to overcome the copyright protection contained in some of the PSX titles.
2, Trainer -
3, NTSC to PAL patch or visa versa -

So Clone CD does real 1:1 copies but can't be patched, but then if they do real 1:1 copies, then surely they don't need to be patched!!!!!

So why even bother using CDRWin, and if someone is gonna tell me because of the protection, then my question is why use Clone CD then????

I'm real confused??

Can u help
