The AO3 is 2x write but remember this dvd...2x write is approx 18x write for cdrs.
Yes your first cdr burner was 2x write but cdrs are only 700mb DVDRs are 4.7gb in size and will still take around 1hr due to the sizes of data being transfered. the AO3 is a good burner and many happy punters have one
