I use cheap and cheerfull white top cd's and use clonecd, nero, blindwrite, cdrwin to burn cds and all boot no probs @16x.
What ver is the ps2 again ? if its ver5 i beleive only the AR2 ver2.01 will work to boot ps2 copies, the one that came in the dark blue or purple coloured box, the light blue ar2's dont seem to work. As for the psx games not booting , i have the same prob, I had to re-burn my cds at a lower speed, 4x or 8x, any faster and the ps2 wont read them. gas
