burning face off 2001

I have the owned copy of nhl face off 2001 and burned the backup copy of it. My backup copy wont work and it says it wont get into it because the game detects a mod. I heard that you can put the codes into the game shark and that is the only way to insert them. Can someone tell me how to get it to work and exactly what those game shark codes are and how u have to use the certain codes. I have game shark and dont know how to do this. Someone please help!!!
