neo 2.2: ps2 becomes to hot?

I always read how good neo2.2 works, especially in this forum. But what is about the heat problem. my video game dealer will not fit the neo2.2 for me, because he is not convinced of this chip. they have tested it, and other possilities to mod the ps2 (like a preview version of the datel 16mb memorycard with bootcd), but they say, the ps2 becomes to hot und they can not give any garantuee, so they don t offer the chip. what do the users who already have the neo2.2 mean?

what is about neo4 (and neo3?), has anyone be able to test it?
are there other possibilities to play backups of psx/ps2 games and imports (both psx/ps2) on a ps2?
