Livin' Large (sims) no cd

Can anyone help. safedisc dosen't work. The only fixed exes I can find are version 1.0. I just bought the expansion and I think it patched the system to 1.1 or something because 1.0 fixed exes don't work. Safedisk fixed exe dosen't work and the safedisc readme said it wouldn't. I was just hoping. Can anyone tell me how to get a backup CD or no cd to work. I have the game but the kids play upstairs and I want to play downstairs. I shouldn't have to buy two copies for that
