Sim City 3000 Unl.: how do you get around the no-CD?

I thought I ought to try this in a new Topic, since the last one became outdated.
I tried to make a backup of my copy of SimCity 3000: Word edition, and I used the Fixed exe-file I found on the site, but it still didn't work!! When I tried starting the game, it asked me to insert the right CD. The 'Autostart-menu' did come up, but when I clicked on 'play Sim city 3000', or the Architect, I was asked to insert the right CD. Does anyone know how to get around this please?
