I was wondering the same thing myself. Don't care if it's no-cd or not, just as long as it works! Those upgrade patches needed for the cracks are so old that Sierra don't even carry them no more it seems. Haven't been able to download them from the linked Tribes 2-site and they don't even exist on the Sierra site...
