Strange SD2 protection On ALICE

We all know Alice uses SD2 protection!

But DF:LW and THPS2 also uses it, but i found that was strange is that Alice wouldn't allow me to make a image with just fast error skip tickd with the I0omega cd 650 ! it kept saying error reading image blah blah. so then i added onw setting: don't report errors, Viola it worked! i don't know if that is normal but i thought it was kind of strange?
