PLEXTOR CDROM WITH PLEXTOR CDRW vs SAFEDISK 2.0

I had a house fire on January 16th this year that destroyed my old pc. I am now in the "replacement" stage of my claim and building my second pc. When I last had time to check the boards, the evil Safedisk 2.0 was making true copying all up impossible, you always had to use a patch....
My question is this, in the issue of Maximum PC Oct 2000 they stated that the Plextor CDRW drive can copy ANY TYPE OF CDROM BIT BY BIT if used in tandum with a Plextor CDROM reader. Does anyone know if this holds true with Safedisk 2.0?
