Red Alert 2 Backup Question "Newbie"

I have followed the the directions from Gamecopy for the cd copy and I followed it and I found out about once you save all your files to the hard drive I read that you have to remove the read only check out so the patch can be applied. I did that I think the patch took ok it said once I applied the patch it said to now go burn the disk, and thats what I did.
I burned a copy on clonecd and I used the settings (Fast Error Skip) and (Don't report read errors) that was in the Read Tab and in the Write Tab I used (Don't repair sub channel data)
and (Perform laser power calibration) and (Always close last session) that was the settings that I had and I did a 1x write. I then burned it and it said after it was done that it burn fine. So then I tried then to install the game and it tried to it put a very small square in the middle of the screen like the original does when you are install it, but it sounds like the disk is
trying to do something and it never does, I never get a message or anything it just keeps running like its going to install and the little square is in the middle of the screen. I'm very new at this actually this ismy first time trying it. But I have been reading in this forum for a month getting bits and pieces before I tried it thinking that this would help before I started writing stupid question. I don't know if the settings were wrong or not any help on this I would greatly apprecate thanks.
