PLEASE HELP complete newbie! subject: updating backup games no-cd

I have a big problem I have three games Colin Mcrae 2, Rogue spear and NHL Hockey with standard version no-cd fixs when i register on the internet i am asked to update the product and from what i've heard if you have lost the original cd this will reck the fix, Is this true? What do i do? with no cd to be able to update the prduct and play on the web????
Any help in this subject, thanx in advance!
