still need mechwarrior help

I've tried to use the first patch to copy Mechwarrior 4, but I get the "insert disk two screen" everytime I try to use it. Does the second patch (Fixed exe #2) work? I've heard that it doesn't. I've already tried cloneCD and it's not compatible with my computer.
