With version 2.8.3.1 of CloneCD try these settings if you haven't already.
Read: Speed = 8x Settings = the top two only ( I can't remember the exact wording and can't look it up, I'm at work)they are something like: *Read subchannel data from data tracks *Read subchannel data from audio tracks Write: Speed = 4X Settings = only the top one "don't repair subchannel data" <<--I think that is the correct wording. If this doesn't work try using version 2.7.2.4 and you might have better success. Cybercop... PS...many people I have spoken with have told me that evey though their Plextor drives claimed they were compatible they still couldn't use it..granted I wasn't physically there but if they followed my instructions to the letter and the drive was compatible it would of worked..
