Japanese Ps2 SCPH-15000

Hey, i know this might sound kind of stupid but i have been browsing the web for quite a while and haven't found a solution, so i was hoping someone here would know. Anyways i have the Japanese PS2 SCPH-15000 and i want to be able to play US PS2 ORIGINAL games as well as my original japanese games. I have no interest in backing up or playing burned games. I just want to be able to play the originals. Is there a modchip or some kind of plug for my version of ps2 that plays originals yet? Thanks for the help!
