NooK.... Lets say that your cousins PSX is booting or at least partly booting, the PSX logo on a black back ground is visible, then we can assume that the PSX is modod!

So we can also assume that the consol itself has probably been thrashed by some previous owner, therefore certain parts of the laser assembly have probably ####ted to ware and an adjustment is required (possibly the reason for its sale in the first place!).

Unfortunatly i need to know the model number of the offending PSX before i can give you anymore advice on how to cure this. The model number is located on a lable on the underside of the consul and would ####t with "SCPH-????".

See if you can find out and i try to help some more!
