There is no sign of it in registry. Uninstall does nothing and I cant install it from converted files. The original from dvd9 works. And with Rage and Red faction armageddon done by pakrat2k2: compiled ok setup runs and then crashes with setup.tmp stopped working. Tried to run that conversion on another PC and install runned there, so it's definitely something with my PC, not the conversion.

try to change your environment variables, IF you have another HD partition.
goto control panel>system>advanced system settings ( left-hand side of screen W7). Environment Variables is at bottom, change the path to TEMP/TMP folders, in BOTH top & bottom locations, make sure the folder exists first. I created a NEW temp folder on D:\, then changed the path to that location & have never had the issue like you did again.
