The 1st PSX i had was the model (1000 something)that came out first, as I bought it on the day of the UK launch.
I could play imports and back-ups on it with no mods inside or out, it was completely standard using the swap trick. On the 2nd PSX (its a 7502) I bought I couldn't do the swap trick so I bought a plug in mod. Then eventually got an internal mod fitted as the external wouldn't play a selected number of games like Knockout Kings and a few others. Hope I cleared that up.
