Dont totally believe everything said about Starforce, it has yet to be proven its detrimental to hardware devices.
I do believe, my honest opinion, that most were up in arms against SF because most couldn't find cracks for games which used it, i.e. warez users with disc images that they couldn't get working. Again in my honest opinion it was one of the tougher protections, shame it never has caught on.
