PS2 DVD REGION DE-CODING

Please can anyone tell me how i can fix a decoder on to my ps2 - can i buy a gameshark and will that work?? basically i want to buy dvd's from usa and play them on my uk ps2? Where can i buy a chip that will let me do this?
