You say you burned it at 1x and it is "still" choppy, implying you've burned it at other speeds too....
What other speeds did you use?? I think that you should always, always, always burn Playstation games at 2x.... otherwise you're just asking for trouble. I always burn PS games at 2x anyway. If you copy it at 2x in Nero using a decent quality CDR, then you shouldn't have any problems.
