vanilla=original game (not the expansion pack)
When I had the problem going 2.08 I sent them a message which they replied to acknowlegding the problem which they were working on to solve, with the original publishers. Apparently they eventually did it months later.

Now I sent them another message, but got no answer yet, which means I'm probably out of luck for a few months or until the no-cd .exe is available somewhere else.
