Which printer for near professional quality ?

Hi

I am working with a software developer and we're thinking of making and distributing our own disks, we'de like the disks to look totally professional, is this possible with inkjet or would we have to buy a £3000 professional thermal printer ?

Has Inkjet technology progressed so far that they look almost as good or even so good it's hard to tell the difference ?

Our ideal budget is £200 gbp though we are interested in hearing about printers which are over budget but can do the job significantly better than the ones under budget.

Thanks !
Mike
