Correct - there are 2 types of BIOS on a v4 PS2 - Gap and No-Gap.
Essentially, a No-Gap BIOS looks like any standard BIOS chip from any other PS2. However, a gap BIOS has the pins in the centre missing from both sides, creating a 'gap' between the pins. The only way to tell is to open the PS2 and look at the BIOS chip itself. Then, use the corresponding diagram relating to your PS2... ||||||||||||| ------------- NO-GAP BIOS ------------- ||||||||||||| |||||<GAP>||||| ---------------- GAP BIOS ---------------- |||||<GAP>||||| As for the resistor between the Power and Ground - you are correct: it's 1k.
