Having now fully cleaned out the installation and redone it all from scratch, the game installs as version 1.1.138, which now im using the new Protection ID program shows up as being TAGES 5.5 or higher, the protection isnt changed as I thought it was I ran an older version of protection ID and didnt notice.
The version 1.2 of Darkstar also uses TAGES 5.5 or higher. My bad for having two copies of Prot ID on my puter. So back to the original question which was does anyone have a clue how to get round this TAGES 5.5 or higher and get a NOCD patch to work for it, my puter generates enough heat as it is.
