Need Help BackingUp PS1 Games

Hi, I have read and re-read how to burn and I still can not do it....I am now using the hp 8230e (USB) win98 and a cpq1810. If anyone knows what I can do to get a backup (or if one can even be created using this hp) of PS1 games using these hardware and software apps....Please let me know. Also I have the mod chip installed and have tested burned games before so i know it works...the error says some sector can not be read I have tried several burn programs...please advise
