Here is what has worked for me--both with the release version and the patched version (v1.08).
*Programs used: A120% v1.9.5.3823 DT v4.03 CureROM v2.0.3 This is what I did. I loaded Bender's mini-image into the one virtual drive I have acticated thru DaemonTools v4.03. I used CureROM v2.0.3 to set a profile and launched the game using the desktop shortcut CureROM created for me. When I made the profile, I didn't click on any special settings. I just followed directions to link CureROM to the .exe file, emulation software being used, etc. The game booted up just fine w/o any messages about detecing emulation software. Interestingly, when I ran the game in this way (using the original .exe but using the mini-image using DT v4.03), the game didn't crash at the first cave (it used to crash when I used the no-cd file by Reloaded). Even after the patch update, this method of starting the game continued to work.
