Tony Hawks American Wasteland

Detailed CD-2-DVD Instructions For Tony Hawk's American Wasteland

For Install Only!

PROGRAMS NEEDED: Orca, UltraISO (or any ISO maker)
  1. Create a folder called "THAW_DVD"
  2. Extract discs 5 through 1 to folder IN THAT ORDER overwriting files when asked. (start with disc 5, then 4, then 3, etc.)
  3. Install, if needed, then start Orca
    • If editing .msi file with Orca is too confusing, see bottom of post for link to updated CD-2-DVD .msi file and skip to step 8
  4. Go to "File>Open" and browse to the file "Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (TM).msi" in the "THAW_DVD" folder
  5. In the "Tables" window on the left scroll down and click on "Media"
  6. Find "VolumeLabel" in the right window and change all entries to "THAW_DVD" by clicking on them and typing it in
  7. Save .msi file by clicking on "File>Save"
  8. Open "UltraISO" and go to "Actions>Add Directory..." and browse to the "THAW_DVD" directory
  9. Go to "Files>Properties...", click on the "Label" tab and under "Volume" enter "THAW_DVD" then click "OK"
  10. Go to "File>Save", browse to where you want and save as "THAW_DVD" then click "Save"
  11. Mount image to install
  • Be sure to leave out all quotation marks when entering any text
  • Volume name in Orca may be changed to whatever you like just make sure you name your DVD the exact same name

  • Anyone too confused with editing the .msi file with Orca may download the updated CD-2-DVD .msi file here -

    Code:
    http://www.badongo.com/file/227631
Just unrar and overwrite original .msi in "THAW_DVD" folder. DVD name MUST be "THAW_DVD" to use this file.

UPDATE 3/10
  • Since there has been a crack released you could replace the original .exe with the cracked one. I wont get into that here since, one, there are already a couple of guides here on how to do that and, two, I dont agree with doing that anyway since 99% of the time your going to need the original .exe to apply patches or something similar. I still think the best thing to do is leave the original .exe, then instead of overwriting the .exe just add ".bak" or whatever to the end of the original .exe and then copy the crack to there. That way if you ever need to apply a patch all you need to do is remove the ".bak" and then you have the original .exe file. The other way, you would have to get out the original cd, copy the compressed file to a hard drive, uncompress it, then copy the .exe file to the game directory. For someone that likes to be updated this makes for a lot more steps pretty often.
