Import title block is there a way around it?

I recently purcahsed and import Playstation game.The title is Bust A Groove 2.My playstation is modded for the purpose of playing imports.When I put this disc in it loads past the playstation screen then brings up a japanese error basically saying that I cannot play this game on my system due to the region.I have had this problem once before with another import game and I remeber having to make a back up and patching it somehow to bypass this but I clearly cannot remember anymore.

Does anyone know how I can get around this problem to play this game? I do own the original but it's not going to work any help would be appreciated.
