Newbie sort of question

Hi There,
I have tried to read through as much of the rules as i can but don't have a lot of time. I'm fairly knowledgeable when it comes to computers, electronics, etc...etc...but i'm certainly no expert. I have a 11 year old little brother who loves to spill things on his discs, etc..etc... Case in point..christmas day he gets Civ4, by the 27th it had grape jelly on the disc. I found this and thought i might inquire ... it seems that it is okay to use tools that will allow him to play his game without having the retail disc in the slot.... what's the best way? I saw that this might require something like Daemon tools and alcohol 120 but i'm not sure. He has a ton of other games, but i figured i'd try and solve his Civ4 problem before anything else. Thanks, and flame me if i've just violated some rule i shouldn't have :-)!
