thanx to charlie, without you i would have never heard about the origa chip.

ANSWER: You're really welcome. It's amazing how people haven't discovered the OrigaChip. No hype, just silently working well!

1.) a friend of mine bought a new dvd region x (he has installed the common origa chip). it is one of a new generation which doesn`t need the dongle anymore. there is only the boot-cd within the package. instead of the dongle you must have equiped a memory card at your ps2. does anyone knows if the "new" dvd region x allows him to boot original imports and backups on his ps2 ?
and works it the same as the "old" version ?????

ANSWER: I use the "new" DVD Region X on OrigaChip; DAL uses it (I think it's the new one) on NEO2.x. I can boot all original imports; DAL can't. Don't know about the "old" version - never used it.

2.) unfortunately my burner doen`t work with clone cd. does anyone know if "discjuggler" is able to create useful 1:1 copies of ps2 games ??????

ANSWER: Only CLoneCD does proper 1:1 copies. If you have games that need this facility (EA, sub-channel protected) then go the extra mile and get a compatible burner. My advice is to avoid HP; Yamaha is least trouble and guaranteed results.
