There should be no problems with your onboard graphics, cos it can be simply disabled in bios.
Both are quiet good, allthough not the latest..... Personally, I prefer nvidia cards, as they have less driver problems. BTW, the X700 is a pci express card, isn't it ? If you decide to get one, make sure you have a pci express slot.
