I still can't play my DC backups
So here's my dilemma.
I recently bought a DC and was ready to burn and play some backups. After a few attempts, failure immenantly followed. I then read about the DC changing its disc readability after december 2000, that it would read an audio file before it would read the game data to properly load, and that a special burning procedure would be required to bypass this. My DC says 2000 on the back, i tried burning a few games using the echelon tutorial, that all failed, so I tried using some batch files that would perform all the steps for me and produce a playable game, and that also failed miserably. This is where I am at now. I tried to use a utopia boot disc, but I wasn't given a whole lot of info on it. When I burnt and loaded it, it showed as an audio disc with 2 tracks at 2:45 long. It didn't do anything else, like play or actually act as a swap disc. I've tried burning everything with different software, tried different games to backup, and a swell of different methods, but nothing seems to do the trick. I've been using CDrecord and discjuggler to do all my burning, and I havent encountered any errors in the process either. All my retail copies work however, so I know the DC isn't pooched. I'm in the dark now, so does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Any feedback would help. Thanks folks |
