Safe Disc on DVDs

Hey it seems that I have Encarta 2000 on a DVD disk but it appears to be protected with Safe Disc. I want to back it up and I could do this with alcohol 120% but it doesn't allow you to back up DVDs in the same manner. It uses all DVDs as being video discs so I haven't been able to use it in the same manner as I would normally with a CD. How do I get around this?
