Compatibility issues?

I just had my pstwo modded by a pro with a cc + laser fix + hd extender. He did a superb job no doubt about that installing it. The problem is that the only hdl that works with pstwo is the .7c because every other version will try to format the hdd over and over again. Beside the pstwo I also owned a v7 with cc chip running hdl .6d, when I try to run the hdl 7c from various sources on the v7 it wont run any of the game from the hdd. All the compatibility are set at the same setting, also the same thing happens on my pstwo, loading the hdl 7c it will recognize the hdd and list of games, but when I try to run it....nothing. Anyone knows of any reason why that is or knows a solution that you can point me to? Don't really want to have to go with usbadvance since I already have an hd extender installed already. Any help would be much appreciated.
